For that loved one or friend that need your prayers for recovery. Let us pray together and ask God for assistance in faith and love.

Short Prayer for Healing and Recovery for Someone

Lord, I don’t even know how to start this prayer.
I ain’t here to say all those religious fancy words, not trying to act super spiritual.
You know how messy my heart is right now.
That person I love, he’s sick—not some small issue, no—it’s the kind that makes you not sleep at night.
You see it, don’t you? You hear his pain too, and all the fear inside us we don’t dare say out loud.

I know the Bible says you’re a healing God. Exodus 15:26, you said you’re the Lord who heals us.
But to be honest, sometimes I get the head knowledge but my heart still doubts.
The illness ain’t going, it’s getting worse even.
I’ve prayed. Not once. Not just me. Others too. Still he’s so weak.
Is it that you’re angry? Or we messed up somewhere? I don’t know. But if you want us to know—then please just tell us.

I come here not to argue, but to ask for mercy.
I come with a broken heart and just say, Lord, please remember him.
Who is he? Well, you know him better than me. You made him. Every bit of him, from hair to heel, all known to you.
He ain’t perfect. Me neither. But he’s your handiwork—you don’t just throw away what you made.

Lord, I ask you to heal him. Not because we deserve it. But because you’re merciful.
In Matthew 8, you healed that Roman officer’s servant—didn’t even need to show up.
That servant didn’t earn it, but you saw the centurion’s faith.
Well, I don’t have big shiny faith like that. Mine’s all over the place. But I still come kneeling before you.

You also healed that woman with the bleeding problem (Mark 5).
She didn’t wait for permission. She just reached out and touched your cloak.
No ceremony. Just a desperate grab. And you didn’t push her away.
Lord, I’m her right now. Not reaching in boldness, just crawling in weakness.
Let your power flow like it did for her. Please, heal him—the one I love.

His sickness feels like a bottomless pit. One minute better, next minute worse.
Sometimes I smile and tell him to keep strong, but then I turn away and cry in secret.
You see it all, don’t you?
Please heal not just the body. Heal the despair in his heart too.
Most people don’t see his shame, his pressure, that thought in his head like “Am I a burden?”
But you know. Please whisper to him, “You are not alone. I am with you.”

Lord, I won’t tell you how to heal. I ain’t the doctor. You are.
If you wanna use medicine, surgery, hospital—then make all of it work.
If you wanna do it your own miracle way—then do it, we’re open.
If healing isn’t happening right now, then give us patience, faith, endurance to wait.
Not delay, but divine timing.

You are the one who controls life. Psalm 139 says every day of ours is written in your book.
He doesn’t belong to cancer or disease or death. He’s not under doctor’s verdicts.
His breath, his future—it’s in your hands. Keep every breath of his steady, Lord.

And Lord, I’m asking not just for him. Heal our whole family too.
We who take care of him, we also get tired, scared, confused.
We shout inside, “God, where are you?”
But still—we want to believe. We want to lean on you. We don’t want to fake strength.
Pour peace into this house, like water, not pretend optimism—but your real peace.

You’re not just a healer of bodies. You heal souls too.
If the body gets well but his spirit stays crushed, then that ain’t real healing.
Speak to him, Lord. Speak in the night, in the weakness. Let him hear you say, “I love you.”
Let your voice be louder than the pain.

And if he’s forgotten you, let this sickness be the very thing that makes him come back.
If he already knows you, then let this season draw him deeper.
Let this pain not go wasted. Let it become a future story to comfort others.

I don’t know how you’ll answer this prayer. But I know you hear it.
You listen to hearts, not fancy talk.
You move because of your mercy, not my effort.
If you heal him today, we’ll praise you.
If you wait till tomorrow, then we’ll still trust you today.
Not because we’re strong—but because you are trustworthy, even when our faith is wobbly.

Lord, raise him up. Not just walking, but full-on restored—hopeful, joyful, even laughing again.
Let him say one day, “God never left me.”
And let me say too, “You healed us.”

I hand him over to you—not to fate.
You reign. You take charge. You are faithful.

In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.
